A project has started construction on Tillicum just north of Craigflower. HD Form is doing the concrete work.

At one point the site was slated to have a multi-story residential building but since nothing has happened there in a while plans may have changed. Anyone have details?

Seems to be it.

We looked at the house that was for sale on that site when we were house hunting in 2007.

It is nice to see that it has ground level retail in it, though parking will suck

Doesn't look too bad. I like the fact is has groundfloor retail, but retail in that area couldn't possibly draw a lot of traffic, could it?

Anyone remember the video game shop that used to be in the old building on that site?

These developers need to get some jubblies when it comes to choice of colour.

All that beige cries "Yiddly Yaddly Yoo, I don't know what to do!"

You can see the south-facing blank wall on the left side of that rendering. There are window outlines in the brick, as if windows were created and then filled in. I wonder what that's about.

Anyway, that rendering angle looks great but from the intersection all you can see is the blank wall. But if the furniture store on the corner is redeveloped it would complete things.

Yup. The wall is very unsightly. And who knows when the furniture store will be redeveloped.

Not necessarily advocating this but the potential on that corner is huge. The furniture store and the little strip mall next door with the Salty's is a massive piece of property. Then you have the two gas stations across the street.

I would prefer the furniture store stay or be fixed up. But the lots next door could go without upsetting me.
