I am guessing this EXACT proposal is what the NPNA wants to see on the St. Andrew's site - although it may still be too tall, too dense and without enough public access.

The original proposal for this site had a mix of rental and strata:
34 units: 6 owned townhomes (3 on North Park and 3 around the side of the building), and 28 rental suites (24 studio with a 4 one bedrooms.)
The townhouse units fronting North Park are live/work with storefront-capable design.
Know it all.

Would you buy a townhouse in a complex with that many rentals?

So this went from 34 units to 6? Wow.

Welcome to the overwhelming (and disproportionate) power of the NPNA. I guarantee you they will do the same thing to the St. Andrew's project especially with mayor Touchy McFeely at the helm. For some reason the NPNA sees any development as bad. For them, gentrification is a four-letter word, and maintaining the slum-ish quality of much of North Park is a goal to be lauded.

I think there is less property assembled on the new proposal.

Oh gotcha. So there could very well be other parcels developed in the future.

NParker, whatever was proposed for those boarded up housed on Caledonia, beside Sands parking lot has been withdrawn.
And G-Man, NPNA distributed your Sidewalking article.

Awesome. I also may be on CFax tomorrow to talk about it.

You can mark this complete, if not moved into yet. Blinds are up.

This is quite the utilitarian main entrance, I love it.

This building is 100% fugly. I suppose when architects hear their project will be in North Park they say "M'eh, why bother with an aesthetically pleasing design?".

I'm no fan of those exposed-fastener siding panels.

Like the view from the CN tower, the best that can be said about this project is that from the inside your view of it is greatly diminished.
