That Vancouver FD E-fire engine is perhaps the first European-looking (Feurwehr) fire engine in Canada. Looking forward to seeing more here, especially along some of the narrower streets in Victoria.

I do not know. We spend $20,000,000 per year on VicFD. That's about $30,000 per fire. Or $322,580 per "structure fire". We have dozens of members on staff 24/7/365, but they only have to fight a structure fire a little more than once per week.
Or $2,100 per call-out, most of which are just duplication of ambulance work. Sometimes the fire department arrives first, sometimes ambulance, but in the end the ambulance does most of the medical work.
Saanich pays just about the same, maybe a slight bit more. But they have a larger population, much more structures, more car crashes and Saanich is almost 6x larger in area.

firefighters are good for CPR, fat people, eight people are needed to lift a person with spinal issues, etcbut in the end the ambulance does most of the medical work.
