Most of Victoria-proper and the core shops for food on the West Shore. Costco and SuperStore are flooded with Victorians.

What would be the point?  Any savings I make on the food would be cancelled out by the gas expense in getting out there and back.

For a family the savings would be quite pronounced.

Costco delivers for free, orders over $75.  Non-perishable only.

Agreed. Not everything at Costco is cheaper but our family of 4 routinely saves 20%-25% over what we would pay at Sobey's or SaveOn. On a $400 bill that pays for the gas and then some.

The savings at Wholesale Club in Esquimalt are equal to SuperStore, but it's such a low frills setup in there that many people don't like it. You will save tens of dollars with every trip to that store compared to Save-Ons or Thrifty's. If you're buying $300-$400 per trip you'll walk away with $50 in savings easily.

Regarding Costco, some items might cost you the same as other stores, but you get a higher quantity in the box. If you play the Costco runs right you're going to see huge savings (gasoline alone; and even more-so if you're buying premium fuel which is consistently 15 to 20 cents cheaper at Costco)

I agree, Wholesale club in Esquimalt is a hidden gem. The prices there are lower than Superstore on the exact same products.

Costco has the cheapest gas and their propane fill-up is the cheapest in town too. There are a few websites that take pictures of all the weekly sales items, so you can go when things are on sale. google Coco west. Also local Costgoer on Facebook.

They’re lower at Wholesale than at SuperStore?

Well I’ll be.

^^Or you can simply download the Flip app that has every local advertisement available. Sales are searchable by specific item you may be looking for.

Boots might be the last bastion of bricks and mortar.  Who would buy boots online?

They might do real well selling brick and mortar boots.  Or cement shoes and Chicago overcoats, being so close to the harbour.

It's always good to get someone else to do the heavy lifting.

West Coast Refill on Broad Street is moving out of downtown and re-opening at Belmont Market in Langford. Their last day on Broad Street is April 24th. They don't have an opening date in Langford yet, but they'll do online sales-only in the interim.

Presumably, West Coast Refill will offer lots of parking at their Belmont Market location.

Yup, this is what I do. Save on will then give me the cheapest price in town.
