I like chris, but can anyone recall him doing anything? Taking a strong side on an issue? Ever going against the grain? I'll most likely vote for him, but I was pretty disappointed (although not totally surprised) at his silent approval on the whole bridge fiasco and a variety of other issues. I know he overall has some good views on things, I just wish he'd express them more and have a little more passion rather than seemingly "playing it safe". Maybe I'm just being overly critical because I like him!
This. He is a political coward. If you at him look closely from the rear, you can actually see the well-worn grooves that provide a rumpy home for the fence pickets.

Compared to the rest of the lunatics on council he's quite sane.
Maybe its because he doesnt wear orange socks that you dont like him;)

A lot of the stuff he's involved in doesn't make news as it's either grassroots-type stuff like the James Bay seniors' groups or it's higher level governmental work, like UBCM or Federal funding distribution.
He's not an ideologue. Willing to see both sides of the story. Funny guy, too.

He's always responded to my requests for info, and he's met me for coffee.

I don't doubt that he's hard working but does he actually believe in anything?
Good question.

Some people would say this is old-fashioned, but maybe he listens to what his constituents say, and makes his decisions at the council table based on this.
I would gladly take Chris's approach to that of Pam Madoff's anyday of the week. Chris is balanced in his approach and really believes in doing what is best for his constituents.

Mr. Coleman has my vote. He's a good guy.
You know I've been steadfast at not voting for any incumbent except Geoff Young over the JSB debacle.
I will always feel stung over it no matter what.
I have had a last minute change of heart based on:
Yes, I do agree he's a 'nice guy'.
He's not towing any 'team' or party line.
He did not accept any union contributions in the last election.
I emailed him to acknowledge this.
Off to email one other incumbent...

Chris also absconded responsibility when it came to standing up to Dean on the Johnson Street Bridge. He just let it happen.

That is how I feel about Chris and why I would never vote for him. Philippe Lucas, either.

Maybe VHF can weigh in here as both a supporter of the JSB and Chris.
Myself personally...I don't want to blind myself with tunnel vision.
Knowing Dean and the way he operates...He could sell a used car to an Eskimo.

Ok so now I hear Phillipe was the only one to vote for rail on the new bridge.

The John Luton's radio ad asks voters to re-elect him as well as councillors Marianne Alto, Lynne Hunter, Pam Madoff and Mayor Dean Fortin. The team does not include Geoff Young, the councillor with the most integrity.
