Yeah, I remember years ago on here there was talk of some super secret and exciting retailer coming here?  Did anything ever come of that?

No, nothing has been brought to light yet.

Back in March of 2016:

And the project's commercial ground floor, comprised of tenants thus far only alluded to by Miller as "very, very exciting," will establish Black and White as a community focal point. - https://victoria.cit...l-sales-launch/

This is coming along nicely! Sorry if I missed it, but have any tenants/retailers been announced here yet?

What is the current estimated completion? Late summer?

the amendment statement as I know say June 1 - August 30

Which is the 'estimated completion date' and "may vary based on construction factors or market conditions", i.e. whenever they get to a state that legal occupancy is allowed.

Given that they haven't yet fully closed up the exterior, hard to imagine that they will be substantially complete by the end of August, being 9 months from now - more likely late Fall.

Was looking back to the start of this tread for B&W.  Hard to believe 7 years have passed from the date of the first posting.

Merry Christmas to those celebrating

Something about that massing just reminds me of a city after war. Must be the huge voids. Hopefully with lighting they don't like so wartorn...

It would be crazy if an earthquake happens and the misaligned sections end up flush because of it.

You should be happy things look different with B&W and several of the projects in Victoria.  Come to Toronto and see every new high rise look almost identical with the only difference being different colored glass in the cheap curtain wall construction

Nice photos :)

Thanks! Yeah, with a few exceptions, there's quite a bit of architectural diversity in the new projects around Vic. Just take this, Jukebox, Yello, Customs House, HP1, Ironworks and the Pearl Residences. None look anything like each other, and that's a great thing! I can't say the same for Langford, where most projects are some combination of olive, beige or brown four storey "giant house" apartments with river rock on the main floor.

Alas, I tend to agree.  :(

I think the problem is the white brick pattern is just too fine and busy looking. They needed to use bigger wider bricks because depending on the lighting it has the look of cheap siding. Also the top floor corner cutouts remind me of some of the basic peach condos we saw built in the late 80’s and the 90’s with a signature gimmcky feature like that. 10 years later those things were stained with mildew and you could probably rip them apart with your bare hands. The offset also needed to be about double of what it is.. I mean do it, or don’t - doesn’t have to overboard, but enough so it doesn’t look like a mistake, lol.
