At the current rate of sales May 2015 is on track to blow May 2014 out of the water.

Yea, single family home prices in the core are reaching peak numbers again.

The sales numbers don’t surprise me (first May over 900 sales since 2007!) but the lack of new listings is interesting….my assumption (now wrong) was always that if the market improved sellers that were not able to sell 2010-2014 would bring properties to market, I guess not.

No idea.  That was before I was paying attention.  :)

 

These are all VREB numbers.   May 1990 was 441.  May 1991 was 1083

 We bought our first house in April 1991....interest rates were dropping and everyone was partying because they were down from 14% the prior year to around 11%....that's a 3% drop in a year....

Wasn't that around the time they introduced RRSP home buyer plan as well?

90 to 92 was the best time in the 80's up to 2005 to be a Realtor :). 2007/8 was great too.
