(Congrats to both Greece and Poland for drawing 1-1- today in what sounds like a very lively match. Greeks haven't had much to cheer about in a while, so it would be good if spirits could be lifted, even with something like this. )

Any European soccer fans around? I was wondering if anyone had info on where to watch the Euro 2012 games in town.

Christie's is always a favourite, especially if you're an England fan. Not sure if Podium Sports Bar is still around, but it would be good there, too - also Shark Club. For the afternoon games definitely The Fernwood Inn.

Thanks, guys. I'll have to plan a few outings.
Maybe if Greece meets Croatia along the way we'll end up at the same place

Shark Club is opening early every day for it.

It was pretty crazy. I suggest arriving early on Sunday to be able to get in. I'll report back when I know a doors opening time.

Watched the Canada - Argentina Copa America 2024 match last night played in front of 72,000 fans in Atlanta. Reputedly Messi's last tournament however after last night its hard to believe he can't be coaxed into one last World Cup. The man is sensational - obviously - and set up both Argentina goals in a 2-0 win over the Canucks.
Although we had our chances, some excellent ones in fact, the same old issue that has plagued us since the 1986 WC on the world's biggest stage and in the biggest games remains evident: we simply don't produce enough truly high-skilled world class players who can "finish".
Yet again we were shut out, unable again to put the ball in the net. And its not like the team doesn't have talent. But if the trend persists there's no doubt in my mind just like Qatar we'll be out in WC 2026 in short order. There is no way, given our popgun offence that if it doesn't radically amp up in the next two years, that we'll make the WC group round. No chance at all. There are simply too many good teams ahead of us in the world rankings with top notch offensive players who can and do score.

The Copa America was held in the US in 2016 and the stadiums were less than half full for most games that didn’t feature Argentina and Brazil.
USA stepped up this time because Ecuador was supposed to be the host but then backed out.

I'm surprised more locals don't take in Pacific FC games.
Should VV get more involved in promo-ing the team?
