That’s not very chill!
lol... here's chill story for you that captures exactly why my bike stays locked up more than it should...
Yesterday, driving out of Cook St Village, North towards downtown and I stop behind two other cars in the right lane at Fairield. A cyclist (mid fifties, helmet, lots of eco warrior stickers) comes up behind me, rides up the driveway to the sidewalk, down the sidewalk, rides across the pedestrian part of Fairfield against the "Dont Walk" and red light, and back into the middle of the right lane. First car pulls up behind him because he's blocking the whole lane and he starts yelling at the car to back off. Next light the driver tells him where to go and what do do when he gets there, speeds around him when the next light goes green.
The lesson in Toronto was that, if the city didn't deal with the horrible behaviour of the cyclists, car drivers were going to do it for them. Peace improved when cyclist behaviour was enforced. The catalyst was a cyclist having road rage killed through no fault of the driver on Bloor.
I'd like to see bikes taken away from people who do things like that. I'd ride my bike more if that happened.
