It has been a while since I have been in the courtyard between the buildings at the Shutters. I was taken with the beauty.

Shutters would be truly awesome if it were in a slightly warmer climate. Still, aesthetically speaking, it is 1000% better than any other building in the original Songhees development. I'm not sure if the Bayside projects are considered part of the Songhees or not.

Having checked out a few open houses there, for interest's sake, my wife and i really got the "shutters" when walking along some of the higher, open air walkways.  Vertigo actually. I could not enter and exit a higher level unit on a daily basis. Lovely to look at, but not liveable -- for me, anyhow. The entranceway, with all that glass and marble, and marble coated walkways to the underground parking made me feel like i was in a crypt.


I agree that the outward aesthetics are the best of the bunch, especially from afar, but up close and personal, it's a bit weird.
