Very suburban site plan, but a lot of that area really feels "suburban attempt at new-urban" to me anyways.

neat but yeah too bad about the surface parking, I guess it's handy though

At least it is behind the building through it seems to be a lot of the site.

looking at the masterplan for dockside green I have a feeling it has the surface lot because of what is going there on the esquimalt side, to avoid having the two buildings too close together. or should I say, the lot is going there because of the building on esquimalt.

Wasn't that corner area at one point to have been a public space, or am I mistaken?

it may have looked that way on the rendering of Dockside Green, but only because it's not part of Dockside Green and so is left blank

Yeah, that's probably why I thought there was to be a public space there.

Surface parking is most likely in consideration of the commercial space.

Hoping to have their own water source?

Not much activity on this site yet, even though construction was supposed to start in the "Fall".  However, I did see this water drilling rig on site yesterday.

I wonder if perhaps they're checking the depth of the water table.

It is likely geotechnical testhole drilling. Drillwell does this all the time.

Mountain West said work will begin in November so it's good to see something happening here. This will be Vic West's third fairly substantial office building.

Other than soil testing in November nothing seems to have happened here and we're getting close to two months behind the initially stated schedule.

We're getting a report from one of our spies that Mountain West Properties is holding some sort of an event right now promoting Harbour Landing at the Yates Street Taphouse.

The building standing on the property must have been set on fire by arsonists over the weekend. It's really time to take this derelict building down, Mountain West.
