I have done the Seattle Underground Tour (http://undergroundtour.com) several times and find something new to enjoy about it on each occasion.

Did it with my parents once and we left midway, without saying anything.   Afterwards we thought they probably think they lost us underground.

Interesting to see they are currently installing tilt-up panels along the back wall for this project. Not what I would've guessed the structure to be, although it makes sense to get the height they are at. If someone is around with their camera it could be an opportunity for some good project shots.

I guess they'll build the building around it once the walls are all up.

Major progress on the building today as all the pre-fabricated wall panels are going up...creating some traffic headaches on the 700 block of Pandora.

The walls going up are the building.

From the renderings I thought this was going to be a bright building full of windows, not a concrete post apocalypse bunker.

Ha ha, the old black and white rendering trick.  I actually think it's kind of cool how this was manufactured.  If it ever needs to be converted to a "regular" building that will also be interesting how they build floors in the interior.

If I am not mistaken, the front facade will be glazed and the concrete side and back walls will be at least partially hidden by the adjacent buildings.

Edit: it appears VHF was one step ahead of me.

There could be some skylights as well. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have windows in the middle of a rock climbing wall.

Do those beams stay until the bottom is secured (somehow?) or the roof is installed?

Ya, you gotta figure that the Win building will be something else sooner rather than later.

There is about a 2" gap between buildings, both sides.

That's a good question.   Somehow, you'd think, seismic-wise, they sure are only 20%* secure right now.  Maybe the roof really locks them in somehow.  Still can't get out of my mind sort of a house of cards, when the earth shifts laterally.

*stat made up.  I'm not an engineer.

Here's a more colourful rendering that better illustrates the front facade:
