The shot was on Tuesday evening. Very windy day for a game of golf, but I wasn't too cold.
Nice shot. That's where the ghost hangs out isn't it?
The 7th green apparently for that. This is hole 5.

It wasn't too cold pretty much sums up the weather there for about 320 days of the year.

Two years ago, Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada published a report on the country’s golf facilities that identified 158 courses that had closed in the preceding decade, while 17 were at the time under construction. The 2017 version of that report was published last month, and said an additional 51 closures had taken place, with 22 courses either under construction or in the planning stages.
Those trends reflect what has happened in the United States, where golf-course closings have outpaced openings in each of the past 10 years. The National Golf Foundation in that country says that just under 500 18-hole courses have been opened since 2005. In the decade that preceded 2005: 4,926 such courses opened.

All the small courses disappearing. I think there would be strong demand for an executive 9 hole course, especially if Ardmore does not stay a golf course.

I was lucky enough to play a round with the Pro/Am event yesterday. Each pairing had 1 X Pro, 2 X Ams, and 1 X local golfer(me).
Amazing to see how good these guys are! PGA event runs this week at Uplands (course is in great shape).

Uplands doesn't have quite the same cachet as Victoria GC or Bear Mountain, but it's by far my favourite course in Victoria. Consistently the best maintained. Nothing gimmicky about the lay-out and all the beautiful oak trees make for a nice round.

I agree it is the best maintained course around. A little on the boring side tho, over the years I have played it many times but only a couple of holes stand out in my mind.

How does a non-member get a round in?

Is a portion of it still playable, or has the entire course been shut down?

I was there ten days ago, spoke to someone said he was trying to get it back up and running in a couple of weeks. There had been break ins and it had set them back. Will be sad to see it go even as a 9 hole knockabout.
