How is Deadwood compared to Hell on Wheels, which I love?

Yes I'd like to know too.

I've never seen Hell on Wheels but I can't imagine Deadwood to be inferior. Deadwood can be talky, almost Shakespearean at times, but the amazing writing, violence and grit make for an unforgettable contrast.

Yeah it was one of my favourite shows and then it just ended, without a proper finish to my mind. Great characters, very gritty and explicit.

Legit http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2400391/- Jim Jeffries is here in Victoria in a few months

Vikings http://www.imdb.com/...9/?ref_=nv_sr_1  Thought this was a GOT rip off , stands on its own merit

Party Down http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1073507/  If you ever spent any time in food and beverage or hospitality

12 Monkeys http://www.imdb.com/...6/?ref_=nv_sr_1  First episode just aired, so far so good

Gotham http://www.imdb.com/...0/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Prefer this to the Flash which has fizzled for me

One of the best series on TV starting season 3 tomorrow is The Amercians.  It is about Russian spies living with a teenage family in the US, while they do their spy stuff. You can't help but like them.

And to put this plot into perspective...

New York (CNN)A Russian Spy ring operating in New York City to collect economic intelligence and recruit other potential spies was broken up by the FBI, who arrested one of the men today.

In unsealed court documents the FBI says Evgeny Buryakov was in New York City employed by a Russian bank, but was actually working for the Russian intelligence services.

READ: Secret Service says the crashed drone was used recreationally

The FBI says the ring used coded messages to relay information they gathered out of New York city and sent it to officials in Moscow.

Oh yeah, I love that show. And being Canadian, I find it hard to sympathize with the FBI in that show. Really curious if they will ever try to make a break for it and get away from the life, 'retire' so to speak, in hiding. Those kids are going to find out sometime soon.

Another good one we are presently watching is "Dig" which takes place in and around Jerusalem. A who dunnit and what exactly are they doing, with some history and modern day detective work. Quite well done.

The only down side for us is you can't get video on demand of past shows of this series on Shaw.

The same holds true for all the main US stations, CBS, NBC and ABC, unless the program is also on a Canadian channel you are SOL.

The last ever episode of Justified put a fine end to the series I thought, hated to see it go as it was one of my favorites but they wrapped it up nicely I thought.

I agree, loved every season.  And they took some time in that final episode, with - well, dialogue - which they are so good for.

I know why the show did not appeal to all, the Kentucky accents and all etc., but gosh darn it was good, never seen anything like it.

Timothy Olyphant is not hard to look at, and the writing of his character made him even more attractive.

Ya, that's gonna be sad to see over.  I've really enjoyed it, such a range of well-written characters.

Well, it does not air in Canada/US until January, so it'll be all done if they do show it then.

Filming transformed downtown Nanaimo into the fictional Chesapeake Shores Tuesday, the Maryland town that the series is based in.

Hoisting large equipment and hundreds of cast and crew into the area is a huge economic windfall for the mid-Island.

The series is being shot over 59 days here, translating to 7000 hotel nights for cast and crew and hundreds of thousands of dollars in spending in Mid-Island communities.

The series stars actors that include the legendary Dianne Ladd and heartthrob Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives.
