I was by there last week and it looked like they were about half way through building the top floor of the Oak Street Condos.
Interesting study of the effects and key findings of the Short Street project. Note: MS B!! Towards end some info on clash between new residential use and old retial use (in this case McDonald's) goes back to another discussion in Arts and Culture thread. Interesting.

Bus passes are hardly used. 49 passes in use, but they only average 15 one-way trips per month per pass. That's only 7.5 two-way trips per pass, per month.
And of course they recommend McDonalds be told to shut down their all-night drive-thru.

Unfortunately, it's just some skaters building a ramp and binners sorting cans. :/

I wonder how long it will take Saanich to dismantle it citing liability concerns?
EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot: screw you, Great Canadian Superstore.

The auto checkout at Home Depot is awesome. It never works and a staff member always has to help out or reset the system.
Concur - takes about 3 times as long to use the auto-checkout as it does to go to a cashier, and helps to put a cashier out of work. Customer service at HD in Langford is abyssmal, one out by Uvic is much better.
The bank I go to has two ABMs and 5 tellers. A lot of the time I go in and people are lined up to use the ABM - I go over to one of the tellars and am out in half the time.

Yup, that's what I've always seen.
