Kia’s Q1 2024 sales figures show a 2.5% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.

Despite the overall decline, Kia experienced a significant positive trend with a surprising 88% surge in EV sales.

Hyundai FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 2, 2024 – Hyundai Motor America reported record-breaking total March sales of 76,920 units, a 2% increase compared with March 2023.

Hyundai set total sales records in March for IONIQ 5 (+58%), Tucson PHEV (+62%), Tucson HEV (+48%) and Palisade (+58%). Hyundai EV sales increased 100% and all eco-friendly vehicle sales combined hit 11,485 units, a 35% increase

You are not comparing world sales properly.

Hyundai Motor sold more than 19,000 units of its EV models in March worldwide, proving that the company is solidifying its electrification leadership in the global market.

Thanks, you are correct. I did not pay enough attention to the details in the articles.

For example Kia data was only for USA sales not world.

Same thing with gasoline and propane! It’s so expensive everyone is already trying to use less, why beat us over the head?

I guess what is interesting here is that it's the luxury brands that are selling the most electrics as a percentage of their entire sales.  Luxury buyers like electric.  it would follow that others would too, if they could afford them.

Tesla (TSLA) is set to lay off more than 10% of its global workforce, according to a report from Electrek citing an internal email from CEO Elon Musk. Musk writes the layoffs will set Tesla up to "be lean, innovative and hungry for the next growth phase cycle."

Through updates to the EV strategy, the city wants its fast charger fees to reflect the power being delivered instead of the time vehicles are plugged into public stations. Another proposal looks to boost on-street charging by creating a licensing system that would allow people to run cords across sidewalks to their vehicle.

I don’t quite understand this one. Are there many homeowners in the city with electric vehicles but no driveway?
