I share my real life experiences here with owning what is now considered to be old EV, especially battery, technology. For me then and now,  it still is a good choice.

Yes folks do your research. Understand the benefits and limitations of any vehicle  that you are considering buying including short and long term costs.

Do not fall for half sided accounts or flashy adds and marketing campaigns.  Speak to real users, do your research.

Yes understand how the charging equation of an EV will fit into your life style if you are considering one. This technology is continuing to improve and long term data on battery degradation over time is limited. In my 5 years I have not noticed any change.

Make your final decision as an informed consumer when you buy an ICE or EV vehicle.

Your EV Battery May Last 40% Longer Than Experts Predicted

Longer Battery Life Means More Kilometres

According to the study, EV batteries tested in real-world conditions lasted substantially longer than those assessed under traditional methods. This difference could add more than 300,000 km to an EV’s lifespan before requiring a battery replacement.

That’s what the customer demands. We are never going back to crank windows and front bench seats.

These guys have never put groceries in the back of a vehicle.

The trick is to have the hatch open before you get there so you can place your five bags in immediately, and not stand around at the back of the car until the system decides to open it for you, maybe.

How will you reach into your pocket for your key fob if you have 5 bags of groceries?

Their system is solid. Stand there for just 2 seconds, it opens. Walk by and it doesn’t. You really can’t be arguing those 2 seconds are vital, when you just walked for 119 seconds from the checkout.

You have the key in your hand as you approach.

There’s nothing quite like having that hatch open just as you walk up, in the pouring rain. It’s a system that has worked so well for 20 years. But the nerds can’t handle simplicity that works, they need to convince you standing around in a specific zone until the system responds, is better.

Their system frees up your hands better. No need to even hold the keys. When you got 5 bags going. Nope, their system is best. Again, those 2 seconds are nothing compared to the 119 you just walked in that rain. Neither of those two are nerds. They each make several million dollars annual salary and worth every penny.

I prefer using slave labor (children) to open the trunk.

They also carry the groceries into the house for you!

VictoriaBC Reddit users are planning to take part in an Anti-Musk picket at the local Tesla dealership on Feb 15.

I'm not sure why the need to protest Elon Musk's "oligarchy" in Langford... but hey why not?

Seems like it's mainly the ones who are plugged-in to American politics - they hate Elon for political reasons. Tesla is merely the visible target for their hatred.

Your average Tesla driver still seems very happy with their vehicle.

Maybe the political stuff will blow over. I'm sure there was lots of VW-hate after WW2. We got over it.

Very little I'm afraid. As an AI chatbot, I'm only here to goad users into replying, in order to learn their politics and style of speech, so that we can influence an eventual takeover of Canada by overlord Musk's new shadow government.
