Bet you didn’t have politicians public shaming people’s cars on your Victoria bingo card.

Saanich almost certainly has a higher Tesla ownership rate than almost anywhere in Canada.

What a turd.

The company is not Musk. They should have a hostile ejection of him ASAP.

The company is American so different considerations here than just Musk. This is not 1950 were if you wanted a car it had to be American.

We lost a tremendous amount of know how in the last 50 years transferring our consumer good manufacturing to China. Transferring all puts us all in a very bad position. Plus Musk isn’t running that company. That’s physically impossible. You can’t have that many children, run that many companies AND be on a non stop publicity tour, game, and be addicted to social media AND be hanging out all the time with Trump.

He only holds 13%. The board could oust him and should. He is bringing it down at this point. Put the Rock into the CEO position or something.

I bought a pretty sophisticated bit of Chinese wireless electronics yesterday via Amazon.

It cost me $93 all in.

There is no possible way that can be built in Canada for anything near that price.

Is it bad that I bought Chinese? Explain.

Consumer goods SHOULD be manufactured in low-wage countries. It means we can buy them for cheap, and leaves you money to spend on other things. Agree? Or do you want your children working in assembly planes for $11 per hour?

Musk might have an AI advantage that helps him father those kids. And post to X.

Also, I feel bad for Tesla drivers. The sudden hatred for those vehicles in our more liberal communities is jarring.

Talking to Tesla drivers about what they see on a regular basis now when driving around town makes me wonder if our city hasn’t gone absolutely mad, not like I haven’t wondered before. But for a councillor to egg people on? For a transit driver to keep their high beams on because a tesla is in front of them? Why be like that?

One person tells me when they’re up-Island they do not get accosted and fingered and aggressively driven towards like they are in Victoria. Whatever is going on on the south Island is a unique blend of something.

Vitriol?

Hardly.

Don’t be so goofy. I haven’t bought in to the Tesla hype and I don’t plan to. And I’ll call out the lies and gimmicks when I see them. That’s not vitriol.

I agree, is there anything that America produces that we can't source elsewhere?

Should we remove all tariffs on Chinese products, including vehicles to make life more affordable for us?

The Chinese might be better to deal with than the Americans. But we are seriously going to have get more productive, a lot less government. Forget climate change, if California burns down too bad. We are in a fight foir our survival.
