Just the other day I happened to be reading an old book about the Sydney Opera House. What the heck? Are you following me?
I gotta say, on those harbourfront parking lots I would prefer redevelopment to involve a few smaller things rather than one big thing (or, if it must be one big thing, then I'd prefer it if the design and overall format suggested a few smaller things rather than one big thing).
So as per your article, I'd agree that a First Nations centre of some kind could fit very well into something like that. And it would represent an easy opportunity for an architectural departure in that section.

Looping back to an earlier topic, what kind of work are they doing on the corner square at 1802 Douglas?

That increases the chances of the federal and provincial governments helping with funding. If CoV tax payers have to be saddled with $100M there, $100M at a new pool, whatever Centennial will cost, and deal with the rapid rise in the city’s budget apart from those projects, it would get messy.

From listening the geotechnical stuff on the seawall here, I have a feeling no matter goes here, it is going to cost a lot of money.

Study Shows Most Canadians Own Cars, Have No Plan to Ditch Them, Water Still Wet
A newly released study regarding car ownership and vehicle usage in Canada shows a few interesting facts. First is that 83 percent of Canadians own or lease a vehicle, and 81 percent of car owners felt it would be "impossible not to have a car." The same percentage has no plan to stop owning one in the future.

Could that mean that 19 percent of current car owners might not own a car in the future?

Rarely does a person with wealth choose a project with no parking. Even less so when it’s a new unit with high rents.
