Ok, here’s a rendering of the 1120 Burdett proposal referenced above:OK, the previous 4 storey proposal for 1120 Burdett has been modified by the developer (Empresa) - it is now a 5-storey building with a portion rising to just 3 storeys, and the unit count has increased to 42 units with 40 parking stalls. Apparently the design now 'better fits' the immediate neighbourhood. Unit sizes range from studios to 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom suites.

The design is very commercial-like, particularly on the three lowest floors. It looks like an office building.

Yes, this is version #3. Council rejected the condo proposal; then Empresa proposed a 4-storey rental, and this is now a 5-storey rental.

Curate is also behind the proposal for townhouses on Washington Ave (I posted about it recently in the 'rumour thread'); does anyone know what other local projects they have done?

Just imagine if Langford ever starts building apartments at the same rate the CoV was building apartments a few decades ago.
Anyway, we already knew the total population of a municipality has no bearing on whether it builds lots of apartments. Saanich has been proving that every day for the past 70 years. Meanwhile, Esquimalt has a small total population and yet it's not too far off from CoV levels.

I think, no, I do like the original rendering better. This looks like an office building. I don't know if they're going for some faux art-deco look but it's not working for me.
