VICTORIAMay 3, 2016 /CNW/ - After a year of planning and development, View Royal Casino in partnership with Wilson's Transportation Ltd are excited to announce the launch of the WestShore Express Shuttle scheduled for Thursday, May 5.

The WestShore Express Shuttle will provide an affordable and reliable transportation option for passengers travelling from the casino to Victoria's International Airport, BC Ferries terminal, Uptown and Downtown Victoria. View Royal Casino and Wilson's Transportation have partnered to provide the service with the aim of connecting the communities of West Shore with the remainder of the island.

"We are extremely proud and thrilled to be able to present this transportation option that will not only provide greater access to our communities, but it will also allow for greater exposure for many local businesses in the area," said Chris Lynn, Executive Director, Island Operations, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.

To celebrate this important milestone, Mayor of View Royal, David Screech along with Mayor of Langford, Stewart Young, as well as other members of the community, will participate in the launch ceremony scheduled to take place at the View Royal Casino on Thursday, May 5 at 10 am.

"I am confident that the WestShore Express Shuttle will provide a great benefit to our region amongst which of course is greater access for locals and tourists," said Mayor David Screech.

"I would like to recognize the efforts of the View Royal Casino in making this shuttle service a reality. Their dedication and commitment to this project has been tremendous and that is what makes them a great community partner," said Mayor Stewart Young.

"The WestShore Express is a project that we committed to with View Royal Casino as we believe that there is a great opportunity to connect both visitors and residents alike with the West Shore Community," said John Wilson, CEO of Wilson's Transportation. "It will also provide people living on the West Shore easy access to other modes of transportation including the BC Ferries and the Victoria Airport."

The shuttle cost is $5 per ride or $10 for an all-day fare which allows unlimited use. Passengers will also have the ability to utilize the park and ride service that will be available at the View Royal Casino.

In a bid to forge closer ties between the West Shore and the rest of Greater Victoria, View Royal Casino and Wilson’s Transportation will launch the WestShore Express Shuttle today.

The partnership’s new service will offer a new transportation option for passengers travelling from the casino to Victoria's International Airport, B.C. Ferries terminal, Uptown and downtown Victoria.

The Langford Trolley is now run by Wilson's.

Well that sucks. Getting across Langford without a car just got harder (longer), and 40% of the service removed. I knew the trolley was too good to last as it was :(
