As the first phase of Colwood Corners residential component inches towards completion a snag has possible left potential tenants homeless as they near what was supposed to be their November 1, 2021 move in date.
Representatives from Onni Group started to contact new residents on the early evening of September 29 to tell them that a November 1, 2021 move in date would not be possible. This after even being assurd by the leasing manager just days before that all was good to go and that notices could be given at there current accommodations.
Reports from tenants that were planning to move in were a leak in the elevator shaft had disabled the elevators and would prevent the optainment of a occupancy permit. While this may hold true for one of the two buildings sharing a podium, it doesn't explain why both buildings are not able to be lived in.

Sorry to hear that, SD. This project has been somewhat delayed already, hasn't it?
But hey, SD is moving to the West Shore!

I don't know if delayed or moving at a snails pace is the correct term. But like I said, the leasing manager verbally guaranteed that November 1 was a go.
Yes moving to the Westshore... can no longer handle the Burnside/ Gorge ghetto and tired of the city (small "c" on purpose) of Victoria "leadership". Can't indirectly support them any longer through property taxes.

Nice to see Mary Brown's coming to the South Island finally.
They've been expanding south-eastward one municipality at a time over the past few years.
Merritt, then Chilliwack, Abbotsford, GVR, Nanaimo and now here.
Way better than KFC or Popeyes.

Another SOF, interesting. I'm fine with them for everyday grocery items, literally doing the 'eggs, bread and milk' routine, but IMO they lag well behind other major grocers in the deli and especially seafood departments, at least that has been my experience with them based on the two outlets nearest to our place, and another close to my gym.
That said when I occasionally dropped and picked up Mrs ASE from a now-ex employer at their downtown office, one day last summer we decided to try the Pandora St location - wow. Totally different (and far superior) experience to the run of the mill SOF. Wonder if this new location on Sooke Rd will follow the Pandora template in terms of offering up superior and more interesting speciality food/deli/seafood quality and selection....?
