Even if it ends up looking great I'm still inclined to think less would be more.
The irony of it all.

Aastra, you’d better not press the issue - he might not be on board.
Collusion!

I just received an email today with a link to http://www.ironworks...g.com/premarket. The 3D fly-through is interesting.

I am curious if actual plans are being discussed for the lot(s) directly east of the Ironworks project. The three "ghost" renderings in this screen capture show such distinctive shapes that I am wondering if something has been proposed.
And here's how those same properties appear today
Also, I wonder how soon Ironworks phase 2 might come along?
Edit:
I guess I should have explored a bit further on the IW website. It seems there are several more phases planned

Oh boy! Chapter 1 of 5? This neighborhood is going to look a lot different, especially if development of the Capital Iron lands ever occurs. Interesting that the video shows bike lanes along Store and Chatham.

That fly through just makes the buildings look even better. This might be the most exciting project I have seen in a long time. If the lots by the Volvo place get developed this area is going to be amazing.

Maybe we split the building into two names, Iron Man (the iron side) and the Iron Lady (the White Part). Out front of each would we the corresponding statues of Simon Whitfield and Margaret Thatcher.
Nah, that would offend all the other genders.

I'm faintly appalled that the cycling Sims in the fly-through aren't wearing helmets. Also, one of them is riding the white line between the travel lane and the bike lane. Even if it was argued (tongue-in-cheek or no) that this is representative, it's still irresponsible to promote.

IMO one reason we're all hoping this development really hits it out of the park is so it might act as a catalyst for the entire area of "north" downtown.
You really get a sense of what a steaming pile of doo-doo much of it is in the blocks especially between Government and Douglas; there is at least one perhaps two huge lots that are literally nothing more than overgrown grassy fields for heaven sake. Combined with the plethora of moldering, dilapidated and virtually falling-down buildings in that area in addition to many of those crap structures north of Capital Iron, they constitute a real blight on the city. Here's hoping I-W does in fact kick-start some truly great developments in that entire area going forward.

An Ironworks ad showed up on my Facebook feed... Old Town living is riding to work on a skateboard with bloodshot vision?

Clearly, they are targeting the slam-poet demographic.
