Not always.

Take Legato. They ran into major hurdles during excavation and their team involved the top tier of local engineering firms and contractors. Excavation began in September of 2015 and construction did not begin until June of 2016, 10 months later. Excavation had been forecasted to have required five or six months but took nearly twice as long due to an unforeseen circumstance. And the site is actually quite small.

I think that was more related to combined shoring wall with Cox as they were excavating at the same time.

No, 989 did not start excavation until August of 2016, two months after Legato completed their excavation.

Looks pretty combined to be from Nov 2016. See photo.

That's the concrete exterior of Legato's underground we're looking at in the November 2016 photo, while excavation is getting started at 989. Legato's excavation completed in June of 2016 before any dirt was moved at 989. There was no combined digging.

Here's 989 Johnson and Legato in August of 2016.

Yes - and it requires a lot of time consuming coordination between both parties - especially when there are two different GC firms involved.

I think you assumed both digs were occurring in tandem, but they weren’t. There was no need for any coordination beyond what any other dig adjacent to another property requires.

Anyways, why are you joining in on the hate-on for this project? Are you a competitor in the development industry? It seems like you have a bone to pick.

Interesting you think that.

I felt you were being overprotective of this developer.

When misinformation is being printed as fact, I wouldn't have it any other way, and I'm sure you understand/appreciate that.

Crane is going up today. Does this mean Wade’s came down? They look similar.

If I am not mistaken, the crane at The Wade is still up.

Wow! I don’t think we’ve ever seen a crane of that style in Victoria.

We’ve also never seen the high-rise style being used for a Langford project that you typically see in tight urban spaces.

Is Westbay Quay considered a Langford project?

I meant to say like the one being used in Langford, which is a specific crane typically used in high density areas.
