Anyone have any additional resources or experience beyond the obvious on COV website -> https://www.victoria...age/effect.html
Basically, is it a pain to maintain/carry out repairs to the home like changing windows/roof, etc?

One of the major things I heard was you can't tear out the original single-pane windows in order to put modern double panes in. New windows have to look like the originals.
We had opening storm windows made for our 1894 house by Vintage Woodworks. They were great. We did not designate our house because of the restrictions to roofing materials, colour & when trying to sell, it can be a deal killer unless the house is really special.
If you're going to change out windows please don't use horrible vinyl ones with fake muntin bars which I doubt you could on a designated house anyway. Spend the $$ to get Vintage to make them.
