One note, is the building will actually be shorter than Aryze Development’s Speed Avenue project. The Lodge will top out at 40 meters and 15-storeys. The Speed Avenue project will top out at 45 meters and 14-storeys.
This is incorrect. 85 Belmont is planned at 51.68m.
Why not have partially covered surface parking? A strip of townhouses with the parking obscured behind, and a few more levels of apartments above.
According to the press release, the move to a tower vs the originally planned 6-storey w/ underground is to save the land for future development - they could technically build a 2nd tower of the same size beside this one in the future without needing a rezoning (once car dependency is even less and parking requirements are almost zero).
