...The black curtain wall section which will be on the View/Vancouver corner is quite striking! Here is the precedent for what it will look like...

Here's hoping it does look as good as this.

They say it has no parking, but there is an underground parkade.

If you look closely, some of the black spandrel glass has been installed on the second storey:

Is spandrel glass just a design element of this building or does it have another purpose?  Thx!

It’s just a design feature that hides structural features with panels mimicking the glass to make it appear as a continuous glass “curtain” wall.

To be honest I like that block but it's probably one of the worst parking lot designs in the city. Bad to navigate as a pedestrian and a driver.

And I think lightning struck the clock tower at noon.

It’s a hell of a thing, that parking lot.

I was up there today and, as a pedestrian, totally agree that it's an awful parking lot.  There's no clear walkway to go from London Drugs/Cobbs to Market on Yates without navigating the parking lot.  And the drivers seem to come at you from all directions.  (Though, come to think of it, most mall parking lots are not pedestrian-friendly ...)

Someone will probably accuse me of being a raven lunatic for saying so, but wow did they go overboard with the dark brick on this one. With the dark everything. I'm not saying it looks like murder but I'm just not sure such a one-note vibe is something to crow about.

Methinks the dark brick could have been a refreshing change of gears if only they had set it off with some contrasting lighter window frames, trim, etc.

Gears have nothing to do with crows, in case anyone was trying to work that one out. I shifted from one metaphor to another.
