You didn't specify which end, the other end of Langford Parkway connects to Sooke Road.

All you have to do is take a short drive on Veterans and turn left at Kelly road to connect to Sooke Road.

I'm pretty sure they won't put a road through the cemetery although I guess the residents wouldn't complain.

We’d never build new roads if we operated with the mindset that all we had to do was take a short drive via other roads :)

Langford Parkway does not connect to Sooke Road on either end, but running it east would make sense. Whether or not that happens, though.

Know it all.

^It does, it's just not called Langford Parkway, but it identifies as Langford Parkway.

Langford council has approved zoning changes to allow four condominium buildings of up to 24 storeys in neighbourhoods of aging single-family homes, as the city starts a “transition” to bring density to its core.

Mayor Stew Young said the only place left in Langford to provide affordable home ownership and “vitality to our core” is through height and density, as outlined in the official community plan.

Langford Gateway Developments Inc. is proposing to build 22- and 18-storey towers on a parcel bordered by Arncote Avenue, Peatt and Sunderland roads. The Langford Gateway project envisions 269 units and a large daycare centre in the initial two towers, and two more buildings of smaller or equal heights in a future phase with about 200 units and office space.

Less than two blocks away at Peatt and Scafe Road, Jagpal Development is planning a 24-storey tower with 269 homes, as well as 271 units in an adjacent 18-storey building, as part of its Langford Central project. The two would be connected by a four-storey parking podium with commercial space, a daycare facility and about 20,000 square feet of office space.

“I don’t want to do urban sprawl anymore,” he said. “In a downtown core, you can’t be prosperous, you can’t have vitality with single family homes in the downtown core.”

Four buildings ranging from 13 to 22 stories are proposed for Arncote Avenue between Peatt and Sunderland roads, totalling 456 residential units, and two six-storey multi-family buildings built at 1365 Goldstream Ave. would hold 102 residential units.

The developer whose company is behind the proposed Langford Gateway project is in a legal battle over the firm’s failure to pay contractors on a partially completed Kelowna development.

Two arrest warrants were issued for the company’s CEO for not appearing at court hearings. He finally appeared last month.

The payment dispute, first reported by the Investigative Journalism Foundation, revolves around Cynterra Group’s Promontory development, a 120-unit townhouse development in Kelowna.

Promontory is one of two projects listed on Cynterra’s website, along with the proposed Langford Gateway project. That plan is for 22- and 18-storey towers on land bordered by Arncote Avenue, Peatt Road and Sunderland Road, with 269 units in the initial two towers and two more buildings in a future phase with about 200 units and office space.

“This exciting project which is comprised of a complete city block is in the planning phase. Updates will be posted as they become available,” the Cynterra Group website says of Langford Gateway. It notes that investment is “currently not available” for the project.

This week, Lanyard Investment Inc. filed foreclosure proceedings in B.C. Supreme Court, alleging Cynterra CEO Bob Fraser and Langford Gateway Developments defaulted on their mortgage, and must pay back about $8.2 million, along with daily interest of about $3,000 beginning July 25.

What’s happening with The Scene? They cleared the site, dug down a single level, and since then nothing.

I love this vision.
