I'm familiar with Saanich's. Not sure exactly what part of that picture is Victoria's.

Ok. Probably close to the same. Yet Saanich has more than 5x an area to support. More parks, more roads, more people. Interesting.

I think it's roughly this, Ismo might correct me.
That's basically it except for the buildings in the top right corner down to about halfway are not City buildings. I think we rent one for our Buildings Services offices though. So about 1/6 of that is now PW.

Oh ya, I got the brewery in there and the pizza place, or former pizza place.

It's an old facility, much like Victoria's. 60+ years is long in the tooth for something like this. Page 31-32 I think gives a brief descrption.

Yeah just to be precise, the building just above the line that juts out on the right side is also part of the yard I think some larger trucks are stored there. I don't get to that corner much.

Sorry I could've done this in the beginning...
PS- I can't get pictures to come over. That bottom left corner also not on the yard. (I was also wrong about my last edit)

To put the excess space of Victoria’s yard in perspective, it is much bigger than the BC Transit depot on Douglas, just down the road.
Know it all.

Tons of wasted space. There’s no reason Oak Bay and Esquimalt can’t operate out of that yard. But they each have their own yards.

Yes it's bigger. Odd comparison... Some apples are bigger than small oranges... the aerial photo of the CoV yard looks like it was taken on a weekend. the wasted space is parking for staff there. Without that sure. I suppose that yard could service Oak Bay and Esquimalt but it's a lot more resources.. I do not believe there is really a lot of wasted space though. That's an odd assumption.
I'm not sure Esquimalt has much of a yard, Victoria handles their underground services I believe.

Why is the City providing so much parking for staff? The staff should be parking offsite and paying market rates for parking.
Why are taxpayers subsidizing free parking, when that land could be leased to a commercial tenant, given how little supply of light industrial land there is in the City?

Free parking for staff is best use of land, now? I’ll have to put that in my back pocket. For next time

No it's a terrible use but that's how it is in most yards. Good luck with changing that. You should be running for office somewhere, so many good ideas...

Do the people that move goalposts for a living work from home? Or does that always require a site visit?
This is actually kind of funny.

What if it turns out, the majority of CoV workers get free parking? If only we had a City of Victoria parking expert to help us out here.
