I know no one cares about this place but is there any scoops out there on candidates? Maybe a campaign where they let everyone know it is pronounced View Royal, like Royal with cheese it might get more respect.

Neighbour dispute involving the former mayor: https://www.facebook...mibextid=I6gGtw

It’s sad when relations degrade to this level. Hopefully everyone can find some common ground and figure this out.

View Royal mayor Sid Tobias says he will not seek re-election, and has called the BC NDP’s housing policy as ‘captured by the industry,’ according to an account via Adam Stirling.

I see a lot of regulations that make housing delivery easier, but also harder. It’s difficult for me to say the industry’s fingerprints are over policy that is counterintuitive in some ways. But it’s definitely similar to the think tank policy making that brought us a lot of strife over the years.

He feels it’s not right and not driven by community. He just doesn’t know that’s it’s coming from the think tanks.

What better way to reduce car ownership, than to make a place to park your car unavailable, and do so with the full support of developers who if told not to build parking, are unlikely to object for obvious cost-associated reasons?

Remember when the EV was going to revolutionize the car industry and starting in 2026, manufacturers would even begin a phase-out of ICE cars? It’s going to be the same story with self driven vehicles. They’re great when babied and monitored by live humans, but the minute they’re released in larger quantities and manufacturers are no longer required to actively monitor them, the problems will start and the honeymoon will be over.

Exactly. The "Industry" benefits but that is unintended. The intent is to solve for their agreement's made under the Edmonton Declaration. It's a big job! Big moves need to be made!

In the Declaration text itself, the “WHEREAS” section includes: “Canadian municipal support for the Paris Agreement (June 2016) – the nearly 2,000 local governments that make up the FCM adopted a resolution recognizing the need to pursue efforts to limit global temperature increases to 1.5 °C

What is the FCM? Yet another NGO where.... "Climate change is the single biggest challenge of our time. With municipalities influencing roughly half of Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions, it's essential to scale up local solutions to transition to a resilient low-carbon future by 2050. Together, we can build a greener and more prosperous Canada—one community at a time."

Well, we’re broke now, and we just got started.

Can't solve the toxic drug crisis, affordable housing or make consistent bike lanes but can definitely control the global climate to within 1.5 °C!
