Was it your boat?

Was it your boat?
I doubt it! Unless fire has a strange transformative effect on kayaks...

Mike K. has the scoop in the emergency thread.
When someone sends you a photo of breaking news, don't just tell us about it, post it here, that's what I meant.

I take it they've also moved the Fish Store westward, right up to the candy store. If I understand it right, there will be a liquor patio between the new Barb's and the Fish Store.

That's right. There is a liquor patio in place and under construction. This one belongs to the Fish Store. There is room for another liquor patio for Barb's in there as well.

You can eat herring raw in a bread roll.
Or you can pickle, smoke, fry or marinate the small silver fish.
You can even use them as bait to catch larger fish.
Whatever your preference, Pacific herring — packed with protein and dripping with Omega 3 oils — are on the menu Saturday when Finest at Sea brings about 20,000 pounds to Victoria for its annual fresh herring sale to support kids with cancer.
The lineups are expected to start early for the sale, which gets underway at 7 a.m. at Finest at Sea in James Bay, 27 Erie St.
People bring buckets and coolers or take herring home in bags, and it’s always a sellout, said Finest at Sea owner Bob Fraumeni.
A 20-pound bag of fresh food-grade herring will sell for $20, and 10 pounds goes for $15.
