Calgary developer eyeing Heatherbell
Goldstream Gazette, March 28, 2007
An unnamed Calgary developer has talked to Royal Roads University about getting access to Colwood’s last piece of undeveloped waterfront acreage between the university and the Aquattro residential housing project at Esquimalt Lagoon.
Until the land sale deal is complete, confidentiality agreements prevent the realtor, university, and seller from disclosing the name of the developer, who has put a multi-milllion-dollar “conditional offer” on the 4.7-hectare property that includes a 1920s mansion.
The developer asked for permission to allow building contractors to cross unversity property in case the offer goes through at the end of the month, according to Royal Roads.
The non-profit Pacific Centre Family Services Association put the 3221 Heatherbell Rd. waterfront property and its 8,700-square-foot mansion on the market six months ago for $7 million.
