Are you drinking straight from aluminum cans or plastic bottles, or is it McDonald’s fountain pop through a paper straw?

These details matter. A cold can of Diet Coke can’t be beat. But the Coke Zero is the better option at McDonald’s…

 

I have a system.  I prefer not to drink from the can. 

 

For this test, I'll pour each into an identical red plastic cup, like the college kids use for beer pong.   I'll chill some cups now.

In a bit of a late change, we have gone with 1L bottles.

 

All systems seem like a go for later this morning.  Weather 95% chance of cooperating.

Coke Zero is better. 

 

But it did not win by a landslide.  As I had stated earlier, I did not know there was much difference, if any.

 

I know now I was wrong.  And I apologize to anyone I offended.  I've now taken the time to educate myself.

Diet Coke from a plastic bottle isn’t the same as from an aluminum can. Google it. It’s a real phenomenon.

I don't think it was necessary to be blind, I had no bias towards one or the other really.

Isn't the main difference between the two whether you want caffeine or not? I mean why else would you drink a pop?

Coke Zero comes in both caffeine and decaffeinated versions.
