It certainly is an interesting concept though I still fail to see how this will become financially viable with the costs of importing food still so low. If we were to increase duties on import foods and direct that money to places like this than perhaps...
The average consumer will have to get used to $10 KG for green peppers though.

("...my chagrin," 'cause it was posted by me! :? I think it's a cool idea, but it doesn't seem to fly here...)

I never said it was not a great idea unfortunately in our capitalist society ideas like this don't fly until the need becomes so great that people want to invest in it. There may be some application on green roofs though? Give credits towards LEED certification or density bonuses?
