I would rather have that condo but downtown somewhere.
You can do better and bigger for less money right across the road from Canada Place over in Vancouver - and literally be in the very heart of one of the greatest cities in the world.
Way overpriced for Victoria - only 9th floor, limited views, smallish place for 6.5 million, and a massive, noisy, dusty construction site all around you for likely the next 10 to 15 years.
AND, do note the big empty lot right in front of your fantastic views to the south. Build anything taller than 9 stories there (almost guaranteed) and your view completely evaporates, along with your $6.5 million.

I don’t know about future development timelines though. Is anything ever going to be built here?
Page 7 of this document, buildings "D" and "E" - both right on your doorstep, and if taller than 9 floors, both blocking any hope of a view you might have left.
Down the road of course, but for $6.5 million you'd really have to think about these things!

Some pretty decent waterfront estates for that price with guaranteed views and a beach.

Technically not Roundhouse but signage up at 200 Tyee Road recently for the spot that was going to be for a retirement home:
Opal Victoria - COMING SOON TO VICTORIA HARBOUR WEST
(Apologies if this is in a separate page already).

How long has this promised development been in the works. Must be around ten years?

The 1st project here went south because of covid. Presales were well underway before it was cancelled.

Yes, believe 200 Tyee was once Aquara. Good to see something potentially moving forward there. The rendition on the website is interesting - shows a road (or large driveway) running on the inside of the railroad tracks. Not what I would have expected.
A bit strange that they also don’t envision anything happening with the tracks themselves….

I wonder how long it would take to blast out those large rocks on site.

Most if not all the blasting for the site is complete for the Opal development.

The public space design looks better than the first submission that is for sure. I Hope that space gets activated soon. It will be a big plus for that area. I have always like that spot.
