Esquimalt is as well but they're building like crazy. Times change.
Of course. No need to force a certain change on people who might not want it.

We could fit a lot of 20 story apartments here! Then we could colonise the coloniser. Perfect.

Why don't we just say we are full, go away?
If the government wants housing built, make a new city where land is cheap.
When that city gets full, build another one.

Well the federal government is offering infrastructure funding for municipalities that reach a certain housing target, and I'm not seeing Oak Bay chopping at the bit to get them.
Nobody chops at the bit, chomping or preferably champing.

@dasmo, did you ever watch the Australian TV show Secret City? It's all about government overreach and making you safer by restricting your freedoms.
Very good show.

Because people are discriminatory\jealous of Oak Bay for some reason. I usually avoid telling people I live in Oak Bay.Why must Oak Bay take more, when almost every other municipality or city in the province has lower density now?
Historically Oak Bay has been at the forefront of development with other municipalities lagging far behind. http://www.webturf.c...tasy/index.html

If they had added 50 units a year nobody would be batting an eye, and the province would be focusing elsewhere. But when Esquimalt is going gangbusters, and Oak Bay won't approve 15 units on the Avenue, we have a problem.
