The big question is, how many people will actually wait for the light to change before crossing? At the first opportunity many will dart at least halfway, then the other half. The issue with so many pedestrian crossings installed where jaywalking is frequent is the lights aren’t properly used as people will not wait.

right.  and evergreen residents are guilty too.  the one at downler and bay is like that.

Drove into town along Blanshard this evening, looks like the Kings Road crosswalk between Hillside and Bay is complete and operational. Should be a big boon in walkability for those in the neighbourhood.
