It was already super gay.
What’s your basis for saying this?

They don't enjoy a good reputation in the hospo community it would appear!
Never been there myself.

If you read their safety policies etc. there was lots about gay stuff.
https://victoriaeven...venue-policies/
The “lots about gay stuff” is a pretty standard-issue statement that a lot of places make. To wit:
“Code of Conduct
At the VEC there is zero tolerance for any type of racist, sexist, ableist, fatphobic, transphobic or homophobic behaviour. By entering the venue all guests, artists, promoters, and renters agree to conduct themselves with the utmost respect for everyone at the venue.“ (That’s the extent of the “gay stuff” in the linked item.)
Call VEC “super gay” all you will, but I’ll bet a lot of people won’t agree with you. Last time I went there I was for a harpsichord recital, and I couldn’t discern anything “super gay” about the event or the facility. But that’s just my opinion, man :-)
If you’re interested in the subject, Paparazzi itself arguably is not really a “gay bar” anymore.

Not surprising, given it was in essence a non-profit bar….

VEC had a fantastic reputation.
It's Paparazzi that doesn't.

Gotcha. FWIW I have heard the occasional slag about VEC’s practises, but not from industry people. (And I’m not an industry insider myself, if that’s not obvious.)

Arkells tonight is only a few hundred short of a sell-out.
Jordan Peterson not selling well.
Theo Von selling OK, not great.
Jelly Roll sold out except some platinum packages.
BTO selling OK, not great.
Sum 41 selling reasonably well.

Canadian music star Sarah McLachlan has officially cancelled her Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Canadian Tour, which was set to conclude in Victoria this week.
Back in October, McLachlan said she was postponing the tour due to health issues. In an update on Tuesday, the Juno and Grammy award-winner announced the tour was cancelled altogether.
“I’m heartbroken to have to announce the cancellation of the Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Canadian Tour,” she wrote in a social media post.
“My voice is not recovering as it should and on the advice of my ENT specialist, I will need an undetermined amount of vocal rest to be able to fully recover and not risk permanent damage to my vocal cords,” she said. “Thank you to everyone holding tickets for your patience while we were working to reschedule, I’m truly devastated to have to cancel.”
An ENT (ears, nose and throat) specialist is also known as an otolaryngologist.

Was the Hermann’s place the one that was for lease, by the City?
@I can’t even remember where Hush was!
Yes. I posted the rental listing.
I think it's undergound on Government, near the French (name) furniture store formerly Christmas shop.
