Aaron Rodgers hasn't won a Super Bowl for ten years, gets paid like $20M a year, and gets coaches fired whenever he has a tantrum. I don't think it's all that unusual in sports for the coach to be seen as more replaceable than the on-field talent.

The taxpayer doesn’t pay Aaron’s salary and as far as I know Aaron has never pretended he cared less about inclusion, fairness or process!

Let's strive for accuracy here ... it's not that she "may" have an exemption, she "DOES" have an exemption.

As noted above, you were simply wrong in your statement.

The exemptions are confidential and not normally made public. Has there been an official statement that she has an exemption?

Yeah, this is the one I would stay away from if I had the least doubt about my ability to perform, she could get badly hurt.

I think the vault is probably more dangerous just given the speed, height, and momentum involved. But then again I'd probably injure myself with a somersault these days, so I may not be ideally placed to make that assessment.

Sounds like Poland has offered her asylum. Her husband and child have fled to Ukraine.

A Belarusian activist living in exile in Ukraine was found hanged in a park near his home in Kyiv early on Tuesday, and Ukrainian police said they had launched a murder case.

Vitaly Shishov, who led a Kyiv-based organization that helps Belarusians fleeing persecution, had been reported missing by his partner on Monday after failing to return home from a run.

Police said they had launched a criminal case for suspected murder, including investigating whether killers tried to disguise the crime as suicide.

Canada's Andre De Grasse wins GOLD in the 200m

This is the first time a Canadian has won the event since 1928

So De Grasse has two medals, which is a great achievement.

And the Canadian women have what, around 30 medals, including team members?

team sports only counts as one medal.

most nations have very poor women's sports programs - training and coaching an facilities.  so it's effectively a much smaller pool of nations in most womens sports.

I know, but even 13 vs. De Grasse is still quite a number.

Yes, and sports like rowing, with its historic associations to elite universities, makes for a relatively narrow field.

i dare anyone to actually be able to find the number of womens events vs. mens events.  it's impossible to find.

this is the closest i could get but it lumps in female events with mixed.

Damian Warner is Canada’s first ever Olympic champion in the decathlon, earning the unofficial title of World’s Greatest Athlete.

His final score of 9018 points is an Olympic record and a Canadian record. This is the first time Warner has surpassed the 9000-point mark, becoming just the fourth decathlete in history to do so. It is also the first time the Olympic decathlon gold medallist has broken through 9000 points as Warner breaks the previous mark of 8893 points set by American Ashton Eaton at Rio 2016.

Warner is the first Canadian decathlete to win multiple Olympic medals, as he adds to the bronze he won at Rio 2016. The only other Canadian to win an Olympic medal in the decathlon is Dave Steen, who captured bronze at Seoul 1988.

Warner had an outstanding competition, which began on Day 12 with one of his strongest events, the 100m. He matched his own world decathlon best time in the event, running it in 10.12 seconds. He followed that up immediately with an Olympic decathlon best 8.24m in the long jump, coming just four centimetres shy of his own world best distance that he set in late May at the famed Hypomeeting in Götzis, Austria. It was there that he set the Canadian record for total points at 8995, making him the fourth-highest scoring decathlete all time.

the *official* world's greatest athlete is of course the winner of the modern pentathlon

Not that anyone cares about this goof any more but it is amusing to note Trump is ranting again today about the women's soccer team losing the gold because they're too "woke" and is spreading a lie that the team kneeled during an anthem.

It must be pretty similar as I can’t think of a sport that has one sex but not the other.
