Speaking of fire restorations, the old Sen Zushi place on Fort St. is undergoing a complete rebuild. I was afraid the Japanese-style building nestled among other quirky little buildings would be demolished but no.

The rumour I hear is that the lease at thr McDonald's at Langford Walmart is ending and a new chain will be opening up shop. Perhaps a Subway, like in some of their American Walmart stores? I do remember reading in the Goldstream Gazette that the city planner says that both McDonalds will remain open. I find it unlikely.

I was hoping something new to Langford was being built on that site. Like a Five Guys and Fries. Or a Carl's Jr.

Oh well.

There's a McDonald's on Saanich across the street from the McDonald's in Wal-Mart, and there's a McDonald's on Hillside across the street from a McDonald's at the Hillside Centre food court. They can coexist just fine.

I don't think there is a MacDonald's anymore inside the Food Court.

What we need is more KFCs!  We've only got 4 and two of them have been at the same place for more than 3 decades.  Get with it KFC.

Maybe a KFC can move in.  No, I want a KFC downtown.  How can we have two Burger Kings and no KFC downtown?  Or a DQ downtown (not at the edge).

Here's my million dollar idea. Open a shopping mall food court but with all your old favourites from the past, in mini-takeout form: Tommy Tuckers, Holyrood House, Zombies Pizza, Coffee Macs etc.
