I'm going to have to side with Mike on this one, I've flown a lot and the Rouge flight from Vic to Montreal had me feeling claustrophobic.  On the return, there was a thunderstorm, so we were stuck on tarmac for an additional 3.5 hours.  All the overhead bins were also full, I had to put my backpack under my feet.  I think since that route serves a lot younger, budget crowd, none pay for checked bags and instead try to bring everything on board.

Do you notice that the people flying into Victoria always seem to be the most clueless too?  You can go through three other smooth connections, but once you get to the victoria leg, there are people confused, unable to deal with their own carryons and just generally being inept at typical flight protocols.

Yes, I have noticed that as well.

There was a peculiar older man on my flight who insisted all flight long on putting his stinky feet on the arm rest in front of him along the fuselage. The passenger in front of him was Mrs. Mike K, and I was in the aisle. He couldn’t understand what was being asked of him, like what do you mean I can’t put my foot up on the side of the fuselage against the seat in front of me? In only realized late into the flight she was dealing with him. I couldn’t see and there was a fellow face down on the tray in between us, looking like he was doing his best not to get sick.

And yes, I also see the carryon bonanza on Victoria flights. Airlines must like passengers to stress out over overhead space, so more will be encouraged to pay for checked luggage.

Not much gamble in maxing out the “free” carryons. What’s the worst that can happen, gate checked for free?

Nice try, but this major airline is testing tech that shames you for boarding too early

New system from American Airlines triggers a noise signal if you try to board ahead of your zone

I don't even understand the rush to get on the plane.

People get excited over that? Do they sometimes simply run out of space?

Why do people lug so much **** around?

It’s about that mostly yeah. If that were not an issue, many more people would wait till boarding closes I think. That’s not necessarily a good result.

Basically, they almost ALWAYS run out of space. Now some people use that as a free way of checking a bag but in many cases those who board late get their bags checked whether they want them or not.

Air Canada must have heard the belly aching, switching its one daily YYZ (  Toronto ) service to mainline aircraft as the last YUL ( Montreal  ) flight left last week for the season. See what comes of the service level over the winter and esp around Christmas as they add flights.

I've also heard PCA plans to cut its slow producing YQQ ( Comox ) to YLW ( Kelowna ) as a couple flights have gone empty of late.

Feedback helps!

The key is to throw in the word Porter to the survey.

Nothing to do with feedback.

Seasonal reduction of service from 2 Rouge flights to one mainline due to lower demand. The evening flight doesn't operate in November.

The Rouge aircraft are now headed south from eastern Canada.

Next month it goes to a smaller aircraft, A220, with the evening flight returning around the holidays.

Rouge is back next summer, along with it's increased frequency.

Was just being cheeky with my opening comment. AC dumped the PDF timetable so I can't see they layout anymore of their aircraft usage.

Air Canada updates its fleet renewal program with a interesting pulling out of retirement for two of its 767-300.

Most likely going into mainline service, unlike the 767 that serviced YYJ for two summers a few years ago.

Kelowna Airport ( YLW ) leadership and future is brighter than YYJ.

The way the airport is promoted by the city and the CEO to progress as the best 10th busiest airport in Canada.

It's going to be a mess.
WS is charging Premium fares on all routes. However, that might get you the full Premium experience with hot meals and a Premium seat. Or, it might get you a blocked middle seat and a cold snack. Same price, either way.
