It’s pretty nice for urban sprawl.

Maybe it’s not so much urban sprawl, since there’s nothing urban about it, but suburban infill? Doesn’t that sound better?

Urban sprawl is so negative, when that land is neither urban, nor sprawl. It’s just infill, but on a bigger scale, and in a suburb. The urbanites love infill. Just like urbanites love traffic calming and cul-de-sac dead-end streets that the suburbs also love.

That image appears to be from a VW screenshot posted on October 14, 2022. Perhaps Victoria Watcher can elaborate on the date/source of the image.

It's cutting-edge proprietary surveillance technology, and I'm afraid that's as much as I'm allowed to say on here.

But if you need more information, just jot down your request on the back of a postage stamp, on a pin head, or a business card and leave it on your porch or car windshield, I'll get the message within 12 hours.

Try it some time in your CarPlay, or use it for your navigation on your phone. The one thing it doesn’t do so well is traffic volumes. Google is far better and judging travel times in traffic.

I use waze with CarPlay - it's terrible for traffic volumes, but great for reporting... er.. hazards.

These are proving real homes where one can raise a family. We need move projects like these in more places over the island.

We do. That said, at the price point those new Trumpeter homes are selling for... I dunno. I'd really have a hard time choosing one of those over a 30-40 year old home on a lot 50% bigger in an established neighborhood in Saanich for the same price.

That said, the reason Royal Bay can sell for these prices is because there are not near enough of these SFH going up. Not near.

You can thank the ALR and the urban containment boundary for that 😎

I think we are lacking policies that would develop other parts of the island. There are a lot of government jobs that could be moved to other communities on the island especially if supporting infrastructure was built.

It sounds like the idea of a ferry to Victoria from Colwood came and went with the former Colwood mayor, maybe.

Royal Beach is getting started this year.

From what I'm hearing among my Colwood friends, that is one of the things that cost him his job.

Compared to the bus it’s slower, more turbulent, less reliable in poor weather, can only take you between two fixed locations, way more expensive, facing a maritime staffing shortage, and has an inflexible schedule. Shocker that nobody wanted it.
