But why is it in a park instead of the arena which is like 2 blocks away?

It's at a park designed for concerts.

It's no louder than most street noise, just different.

As every year could hear it somewhat loudly in South Oak Bay which I’m always amazed of because of the line of hills between it and us

Won’t somebody think of these young adults long-term hearing

...The park has had concerts going back decades.  I saw the Beach Boys there in the 80's.

You mean the '60s - right?

Uhm if I'm sitting in Oak Bay and can hear it, it is totally different. I can't hear the downtown traffic, just the traffic right outside my window.

I feel I went to it on my own, with friends, not parents.  So it must have been 80's (?).

Maybe Oak Bay will send a formal complaint

No, it is a ball park. A big open field. What about it is designed for concerts as opposed to the specifically built building right down the street? When big famous name music acts come to Victoria, they would never agree if they were told you have to play on this temporary stage in a ball diamond.

It's a large outdoor space, with adequate concessions, bathrooms, and backstage area (athlete dressing rooms).  We do not have this anywhere else except at Centennial Stadium and Starlight Stadium, and they are both inferior.

I'm not sure if you understand summer musical festivals if you feel it should take place indoors.  First of all, you need more than one stage.  You can't do that in the arena.

It is not summer?

And what is so special being outdoors unless you are at an actual park far away from houses. I have been to many "summer" music festivals, all at actual parks, not ball diamonds.

It's summer for another week.

The City simply has no other suitable park.  This one already has all the permanent facilities in place, including a secure perimeter.

I’m just amazed that finally developers are viewed to be so cool, as to have the largest booth at a music festival.

Rifflandia, sponsored by Development Incorporated. How awesome is that?

Hey, it’s a start!

It’s genius marketing, though. 80% of the people in attendance are renters. Aryze is 80% a rental developer. Brand recognition is important as real-estate becomes more and more brand oriented.

What an assumption. That only renters go to music festivals?
