I mentioned this one in the Y towers thread but nobody took me up on it. The rendering above seems to show a building next door to the east but wouldn't that spot actually be the Y project's vehicle entrance? Would the vehicle entrance be at the base of a ~4-story wing? I assume a rendering that shows this project and the towers together would address my confusion, but I don't know if such an image is out there.

Yeah, but if the vehicle entrance for the Y towers development would be next door then why does the rendering for this little building show a lowrise ghost building in that spot? Anyway, the answer is found on page 15 of Concert's submission document. The vehicle entrance will have levels 2 and 3 over top of it in that corner of the property.

I guess I was confused because I wasn't expecting this little building at 837 Broughton to be taller than the podium of Concert's tall tower. That would actually be quite a short podium on the Broughton Street side.

Some shots from the Quadra Village Area. I'm pretty sure neither of these projects have a thread, so I believe this is the proper place to share. First is the new self-storage place across from Crystal Pool, and then the new build at 1025 Kings Road, which looks just about finished.

The Fifth/Kings project has turned out quite nicely. It definitely has more visual appeal than the generic 1970s low-rise it replaced.

Yea, it's nice enough. Matches it's neighbour quite nicely as well. I'll try to get another shot or two from other angles when its 100% done, and the bin out front is gone.

I am curious to know what aastra thinks about the white/grey panel cladding. In this situation and at this scale, I think it works quite well. However, between this project and the adjacent "Friends" building on Fifth, any additional such finishes would be too much.

From now on when conga takes pictures around town I'm going to refer to it as "doing the conga beat".
(Sorry, I couldn't control myself any longer)

The new build at 1025 Kings looks about ready for move-in. The side that faces Kings is very meh, but as a whole it's a nice enough building. I understand the immediate area will be densifying soon enough, and hopefully new builds will pay a little more attention to all sides of the street-level.

That's exactly how I've been feeling about it.

It's like they thought Kings was an alleyway!

That space was originally a CRU but the community association fought it hard citing traffic/noise into the neighbourhood so it got converted to a bike room later in the game. It was an unfortunate outcome that we weren't thrilled about

It's meant to blend in like that.
Seriously though, nice project. We need more of this scale, and this calibre.
