Weird... Can it be that the current article is different from what was published earlier this morning? On p.2, there's this:

The cost of a B.C. fixed link -- projected as high as $12 billion in 2002 -- is trivial compared to the long-term benefits, McGeer says. "You've got something that's going to last 100 or 150 years. If it had been done when it was initially suggested, it would have been paid off by now."

I could swear there was some sort of elaboration by McGeer re. economic sustainability, right after the "trivial" and "long-term benefits" comment. Anybody else see that?
