Just to follow up on my earlier ramble...(this is fun for me dredging up these thoughts from my youth)...the opening act was a band, also from England, called Sounds Incorporated. When they finished and left the stage, the lighting was dimmed so much that you couldn't tell what was going on except for a bunch of silhouettes of roadies moving gear around.
When things slowed down and a hush came over the crowd, a single spotlight came on pointed at Ringo's bass drum which still had the Sounds Incorporated logo on it. In a split second the last stage hand pulled the logo off of the drum exposing the Beatles logo...a split second later the stage lights came on and all the Beatles were in position...a split second after they broke into "She Loves You"....at which time all hell broke loose.
Dynamic start. Lots of screaming. A good night was had by all. This photo below was taken from the general area where we were seated.
