I spoke in support the first time as well. The biggest naysayer was the Stamp shop which is gone so should be fine!

Visit my blog at: https://www.sidewalkingvictoria.com

It has a whole new look!

There was a whole bunch of talk about the neighbourhood being “too fragile” for a liquor store. Whatever.

No wonder a pot shop opened up in the village as fast as it could.

Know it all.
Citified.ca is Victoria's most comprehensive research resource for new-build homes and commercial spaces.

Cascadia Liquor Store's application for a larger Quadra Village location (within the same shopping plaza) is going to CotW this Thursday morning.  City staff are in support of the application.

Did this pass?

Yes, passed as part of the consent agenda (i.e. no discussion, none opposed). A variance was issued allowing the total floor area of a liquor store to be increased from 200 sq. m to 594 sq. m, which is the total floor area of the building that Cascadia Liquor will occupy. The new store will have 441 sq. m (4,746 sq. ft.) of commercial space according to the plans submitted. Exterior refinishing and new landscaping will be part of the renovation.

What made it sail through was the rendering with the customers walking in with nice big reusable bags.
