This is geared more towards commuters, though. These folks will appreciate a parking setup that costs less than a comparable spot downtown even with the bus pass. This is a great deal.

The other thing is that's only a 20 minute walk to the core. Some people might be happy to just walk in from there grabbing Timmys on the way and save the $40.

Sure! That's definitely a possibility. I'd love to have access to a bus pass, personally. At $40. I'd never use $40 worth of transit in a month but if you've got other family members who can piggy-back on the pass it's a screaming deal.

It'll be interesting to see what the take-up is.  I assume if you take the free month you must commit to at least one more.  It's probably priced right.  Any lower and it could be abused (if the cost was less than a bus pass) and much higher and it's not too attractive.

Robbins parking across from the TC is $115 random and $140 reserved.

I think this sounds like a good thing but it seems like it is a small lot and if you did this on a bigger scale where are the additional buses going to come from?

I was thinking about this new park and ride...

Do we have any stats on the existing p&r facilities, how full are they?  Sooke, Sidney, Colwood, View Royal?

I mean, there is obviously 100's of people willing to park and ride, they do it every day using those lots and paying whatever a monthly bus pass costs.  But I also suppose they see some gas savings too.

The View Royal one seems to be full of hospital workers who don't want to pay to park at the hospital lots.

The others are full, for sure, too.

Its not a park and ride ....park and rides are free this is a paid robbins parking lot that is only a few blocks from city centre h

The BCT park and rides, might be free for parkers, but we all paid for them in taxes.

The casino offers a free park and ride now.

View Royal Casino is pleased to offer our Free Park & Ride service in Parkade Levels 5 & 6 providing you with an EASY Connection to the BC Transit stop located right in front of the Casino.

Well we are not talking about the rest North America

You can carry concealed weapons and shoot people who come onto you property or through your door without ever seeing them, in some US states, who cares its not valid here.

There are no pay park and rides on Vancouver Island and non in the CRD which we are discussing

Yes and that is my point give whatever name you want but it's a pay parking lot not a park and ride...you can call the parking lot across from capital iron a park and ride too but it's not

^ no other parking lots come with a discount bus pass though. So it will only be used by bus riders.

Nothing is free when you park at McTavish and have to pay to get in the bus.

At McTavish you have a longer walk to the bus, from you car, going both ways. And you have less bus selection too. Mayfair seems great!
