^Trying to arrange a partner for non-market rentals. The last deal fell apart because of lack of communication among government-funded housing providers and it is still difficult to construct a deal the banks will agree to.

I don't get it either. If the government makes building subsidized housing difficult, forget it and move on. It's been several years of empty promises at this site.

That whole village is full of banks.
RBC seems to be going into the SW corner.
2% Jazz says OPENING FEBRUARY on the signage but the interior tells me they are 2 or more months away still.
A hair/beauty place is going into the south side.
A month later, and not much has changed for 2% or the beauty place, they are still many weeks away. I can't see into the bank space to know what's going on there.
Walked by Smokin' Bones at 9:10pm last night, just two tables of people, and a guy playing the guitar. I think he's there every Thursday.

^ Smoking Bones was awful in Langford and I have no idea why it would be any different downtown. The food was always bad, they have no smoker. Totally fake BBM spot with bad service. We need a Memphis Blues to cross the pond from Vancouver!

Agreed. The ribs I had tasted like they were boiled and were literally dripping with bbq sauce. yuck.

Ugh, that was so my experience there. I've never been to a BBQ place and had tough beef brisket. Shockingly bad, if you ask me. The front-of-house staff are also extremely unprofessional.
