saw the aftermath.
2 cars 1 pickup
one car on side walk
1 pole knocked over
truck and other car damaged.
If that's the carnage that can be done in a 15kph zone, Gudgeon and company are mad to want 40 around town. Better lower it to 5.

Ocean Pointe Hotel's sign has gone bye-bye.
Isn't it going bye-bye at some point with the new bridge anyway? Maybe he was just doing them a favor.

And require all occupants in cars to wear motorcycle helmets

Bring back the old laws from the early 1900's that required you to have a man walking in front of your horseless carriage waving a red flag or a light if at night warning people that a horseless carriage was coming and to be on guard....Isitt & Gudgeon would love that....just imagine zero unemployment!!! They would be the envy of the Nation! true national heroes....perhaps a statue would be a fitting tribute!!!

They're going to need more than that one-ton Westshore Towing truck to pull that out.
I wonder what's in the trailer.

Safe to say excessive speed is the culprit. Another photo via VictoriaBuzz:

Probably, combined with a shifting load perhaps.

They had to bring in a crane.

^thanks for that
When it comes to car crashes, we often only see the aftermath and wonder "how the heck did that happen?". With the increasing prevalence of dashcams, we're now able to see just how quickly and out of the blue crashes can happen.
No serious injuries in this crash with a cement truck:
